Surgeons European School

Overview

The Summer European Ultrasound Course for Surgeons builds upon nine years of experience gained through the SurgUS platform (www.surgus.eu), developed within the framework of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery and supported by the Romanian Association for Endoscopic Surgery.

In the absence of a unified European ultrasound training curriculum for surgeons, the SurgUS group promotes the use of ultrasound directly related to surgical diagnosis and treatment, including trauma care, non-traumatic acute abdomen, intraoperative applications, procedural guidance, and bedside patient assessment.

As a major innovation, this course highlights the profound transformation that Artificial Intelligence is bringing to the field of ultrasound imaging.

The faculty consists of 18 experts from Germany, Greece, Israel, the Netherlands, and Romania.

The SurgUS educational model is based on concise, highly structured lectures followed by extensive Hands-On training sessions. Practical training represents approximately half of the total educational program.

The Summer European Ultrasound Course for Surgeons will take place over three days, October 14–16, 2026, providing a total of 18 hours of continuing medical education. Activities will be hosted at Novotel Hotel and the Surgical Training Institute, in Bucharest, Romania.

The course is organized by ARCE as a non-profit educational event and is expected to receive endorsement from EAES, iSMIT, and EUFUS.

Because of the Hands-On training format, the number of participants is limited. Registrations will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
